BAKED APPLE

Core the apple and fill with a mixture of butter, honey and cinnamon.

Bake for about twenty minutes (this time will vary with the type of apple)

Top with cream and soft fruit.

A medieval recipe calls for the apples to be cooked in a syrup of galingale, a Far-Eastern spice similar to ginger.
